The Town of Elon operates as a Council-Manager style of government.  The Town Manager is appointed by the town’s Board of Aldermen, and acts as the chief executive officer for the organization.  The Town Manager’s responsibility is overseeing the day to day operations of the town, and to carry out any policies or ordinance enactments for the Board of Aldermen.  The Board of Aldermen consists of an elected mayor, and 5 elected board members.  Both the mayor and the Board of Aldermen serve for a four year term at the time of being elected.

The Town of Elon’s administrative offices are located at 104 S. Williamson Avenue, and are open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5pm.
